Darja Shatalova is a transdisciplinary artist, born in Russia and based in Vienna. Besides her art studies, she has a mathematical background. Her works consist of multi-layered graphical notations that are transformed into space-based installations and performances. Main topics of her investigation are time, system, code and structure. Darja Shatalova’s drawings have been lately published in Fukt Magazine No. 18 – The System Issue. Her artist’s books are part of the collection of the mumok Library Vienna and the Bavarian State Library Munich.
